EternaLEnVy Declares Departure from Dota 2

Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao, a retired Canadian Dota 2 professional, has chosen to sever all links with the game completely. The 31-year-old made the following Twitch broadcast his final, as he has decided to “retire from everything Dota related,” he revealed on his social media sites. EternaLEnVy has agreed to sell some of his specially created, scarcely accessible mousepads as he bids farewell to a storied Dota 2 career.

He decided to leave Dota 2 after quitting the game industry in July 2022. Since then, EternaLEnVy has solely been Twitch live-streaming. “Thank you, Dota, and peace out. Next stream will be my last,” EternaLEnVy, the Canadian Dota 2 veteran, revealed his decision to leave the game on Twitter. Jonathan “Loda” Berg, a former Alliance player and The International (TI) winner, joined many fans in responding to the retirement post with respect and appreciation.

Achievements of EternaLEnVy

EternaLEnVy is renowned for his quick judgment and unexpected choices. One of the notable accomplishments was with Team Secret when they took home the Shanghai Major 2016 championship. Due to his peculiar gameplay, he received both positive and negative comments from fans and Dota 2 players. EternaLEnVy abruptly decides to leave Dota 2, prompting his viewers and admirers to voice their sentiments toward the admired player.

Launch of EternaLEnVy’s Limited-edition Mouse Pads

For $49.99 with gifting possibilities, EternaLEnVy has made a limited edition mousepad available. This product is now available for preorder through May 8th, with a deadline of 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time. Throughout his career, EternaLEnVy has made several unexpected choices—both in and out of the game. As a result, even though his abrupt departure may have come as a surprise, the community would not be shocked. A professional Dota 2 career that started in 2012 saw nearly a decade of highs and lows as EternaLEnVy rose to new heights with Team Secret, winning The Shanghai Major 2016 and the time leading up to it, and experienced lows in the later stages of his career as he switched teams in search of success.

He became known as one of Dota 2’s most adored players thanks to his eccentric nature and a playstyle that occasionally involved some of the most outrageous maneuvers. The athlete had avoided taking on stand-in roles with North American teams in the previous few months and restricted himself to live streaming only. EternaLEnVy will no longer stream Dota 2 at some point, and it is unknown if he will continue to stream other games. His final live stream will take place on an undetermined date. Due to his tendency to make impulsive decisions, which frequently translated outside of the game, EnVy was able to unite the professional community against him more than a few times over the years. He became well-known for switching teams in an instant and intentionally kicking teammates. He has been at the center of some of the most contentious roster changes, such as Fnatic’s 2018 infamous “pizza party,” which was meant as a celebration for qualifying for the ESL One Katowice Major, but not for all the players as Khoo “Ohaiyo” Chong Xin was informed of his removal from the team at the said party. In 2016, when Team Secret won the Shanghai Major, Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen and Aliwi “w33” Omar were kicked off, and more recently after Team Team qualified for the MDL Disneyland Paris, a contentious roster change occurred.

Wrapping Up

While fans are mourning the end of EternaLEnVy’s glorious career, he will leave behind a legacy never to be forgotten. With a job full of ups and downs, the veteran has made remarkable achievements in the field and has millions of disciples all over the globe looking up to his gaming prowess.
